Italian Sausage Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb. Italian pork sausage
  • 1 cup frozen chopped vegetable blend for
  • seasoning (onion, celery, bell pepper)
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 can (28 oz.) hunt's Crushed Tomatoes with basil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/4 cups dry large- elbow macaroni,
  • uncooked
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese, optional

Directions

  1. heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage, vegetable blend and mushrooms. Cook 5 minutes or until sausage is crumbed and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet, drain and set aside.

  2. Place tomatoes, water and macaroni in skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cook uncovered 20 to 12 minutes or until macaroni is tender.

  3. Add garlic salt and return meat mixture to skillet. Toss to combine. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired.
