Ingredients
- 1/3 cup finely chopped carrots
- 1/3 cup finely chopped celery
- 1 cup sliced green onions
- 2 cups water
- 1 medium white onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 (16 oz.) jar Cheese Whiz
- Black pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
- 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
Directions
- Boil carrots, celery and green onions in water for 5 minutes. Sauté sliced white onions in margarine until just tender. Add flour to sautéed onions and then add milk and broth. Bring to a boil, stirring to avoid lumps, then add remaining ingredients. Stirring until Cheese Whiz melts. keep warm over low heat.
