Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cumins - whole or ground
  • 1 tsp tamarind paste
  • 2 tsp sambaar pudi
  • 3-4 stalks cilantro
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 red chilies
  • dash of hingu
  • 1 tsp shredded coconut or 6 cashews
  • 3 cups bele water or regular water

Directions

  1. Place bele water, 3 cloves garlic, chopped onion, reserving 1 tbsp for ogerne, tamarind, sambaar pudi, cumin seeds, coconut, cilantro into the blender. Blend until smooth.

  2. Make ogerne using mustard seeds, hingu, red chilies, reserved onion and remaining garlic pour blended ingredients into pot. Boil, adding salt as needed.
