Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 dash nutmeg
- 1/4 cup milk
Directions
- Beat butter in a large bowl with mixer at medium speed until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla, beat until well blended.
- Combine flour, baking powder and nutmeg in medium bowl.
- Add flour mixture and milk alternately to butter mixture, beating at low speed after each until well blended.
- Shape dough into 2 logs, each about 6 inch long. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2-3 hours or overnight.
- preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. Cut dough into 1/4 inch thick slices.
- Keep dough and cookies chilled until ready to bake. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
