Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 3-inch cinnamon stick
- 10 whole cloves
- 1/8 tsp. celery seeds
- 2 whole allspice
- 1 1/3 cups chopped mango
- 1/2 cup reduced-sugar ketchup
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. minced celery
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- Dash cayenne pepper
Directions
- In a saucepan, combine vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, celery seeds, and allspice. Bring to boiling, Remove from heat. Let stand 15 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve; discard solids.
- In the saucepan, combine vinegar mixture, mango, ketchup, onion, celery, honey, molasses, dry mustard, and cayenne. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly, mash with a potato masher. Stir in 1/4 cup water. Gently stir in meatballs and heat through.
