Ingredients
- 4 cups chopped cantaloupe pulp
- 4 cups chopped fresh peaches
- 6 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. grated orange rind
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions
- Combine cantaloupe pulp and chopped peaches in a large heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, over low heat. Boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add sugar and lemon juice. Mix until well blended. Continue boiling, stirring frequently, until mixture is thickened.
- Add nutmeg, salt, orange rind and walnuts. Mix well. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Spoon, while hot, into hot sterilized jars. Seal with 1/8-inch layer of paraffin.
