Ingredients
- 1 lb. ripe tart red cherries
- 1 1/4 lb. nectarines
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 1 3/4 oz. pkg. powdered fruit pectin
- 4 cups sugar
Directions
- Sort, wash and remove stems form cherries. Pit and coarsely chop the cherries; measure 1 1/2 cups. Pit and chop the nectarines; measure 2 cups.
- In 10-quart kettle or Dutch oven combine the chopped fruit and lemon juice. Add the powdered fruit pectin to the mixture, mix well.
- Bring mixture to full rolling boil. Stir in sugar. Bring again to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil hard, uncovered, for 1 minute. Remove from heat; skim off foam. Pour into hot, sterilized half-pint jars; seal.
