Crab-Apple Preserves

Ingredients

  • 8 cups sugar
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 4 lb. crab apples
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 stick cinnamon

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, water and lemon juice and heat to boiling. Wash apples, cut into quarters and remove stems and cores. Add to syrup with spices tied in a bag. Cook until clear and tender. Remove spices and pour apples into clean hot jars and seal.
