Peach-And-Grapefruit Conserve

Ingredients

  • 8 cups, diced peaches
  • 3 medium grapefruit, peeled and diced
  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped almonds

Directions

  1. Combine peaches, grapefruit, orange rind, sugar and lemon juice in a large heavy saucepan. Mix well.
  2. Bring to boil. Boil rapidly for 5 minutes. Add almonds. Mix well. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes longer, or until mixture is thickened. Pour into hot sterilized jars at once, and seal with hot lids and rings.
  3. makes about 8 half-pints
