Pear-Peach Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pears
  • 1 lb. peaches
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1 3/4 oz. pkg. powdered fruit pectin
  • 5 1/2 cups sugar

Directions

  1. Peel, core and grind or finely chop pears; measure 2 cups.
  2. Peel, pit and grind or finely chop peaches; measure 2 cups.
  3. In an 8- to 10- quart kettle or Dutch oven combine pears, peaches, lemon juice, and powdered fruit pectin. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil; boil hard, uncovered, for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; quickly skim off foam with metal spoon. Pour at once into hot, sterilized half-pint jars; seal.
  4. makes 7 half-pints.
