Pear Preserves

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 12 pears, peeled, cored and cut into eighths

Directions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a large saucepan. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
  2. Add pears to syrup and cook over medium heat until pears are translucent and syrup is thickened. Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
  3. makes 3 pints
