Raspberry- Pear Jam

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe medium pears
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1 3/4-oz. pkg. powdered fruit pectin
  • 3 1/4 cups sugar

Directions

  1. Peel, core and mash pears; measure 1 14 cups. Mash raspberries.
  2. In large kettle or Dutch oven combine fruits and lemon juice. Stir in powdered fruit pectin.
  3. Bring to full rolling boil. Stir in sugar.
  4. Return to full rolling boil; boil hard, uncovered, for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir for 5 minutes, skimming foam from surface with large metal spoon. Pour into hot, sterilized half-pint jars or glasses; seal.
  5. makes 4 half-pints
