Strawberry Conserve

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts fresh strawberries
  • 2 large oranges
  • 1 can (1 lb.) crushed pineapple
  • 9 cups sugar
  • 1 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Wash, hull and crush strawberries. Set aside.
  2. Carefully remove peel and white membrane from oranges. Section and chop oranges very fine. Set aside.
  3. Combine crushed pineapple, sugar, and crushed strawberries in a large heavy saucepan. Mix until well blended. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. and continue boiling for 20 minutes.
  4. Add walnuts. Mix well. Boil for 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat, stirring frequently and spoon immediately into hot, sterilized jars. Seal, and process in boiling water canner.
  5. makes 5 pints
