Bread ad Butter Pickles

Ingredients

  • 12 medium- sized cucumbers
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 6 onions
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp. mustard seed

Directions

  1. Slice cucumbers and onions about 1/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with salt. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. heat vinegar and other ingredients. Drain, then drop cucumbers and onions into warm vinegar mixture. Let boil 5 minutes only. Pack into sterilized pint jars and seal.
