Spiced Currants

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts currants
  • 2 lbs. sugar
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 1 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Wash and stem fruit. Combine sugar, vinegar and spices and boil 5 minutes. Add fruit and cook until the mixture is thick and clear. Seal in sterilized, hot jars.
  2. makes about 5 pints
