Ground Beef Casserole with Cream Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 tbs. bellpepper flakes (or fresh bellpepper)
  • onion flakes (or diced onion)
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 3 oz. tomato paste
  • garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • a pinch of sugar
  • 2 cups (or more) of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 3/4 package of wide egg noodles.

Directions

  1. Brown hamburger (seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper and onion flakes and bellpepper), drain. Add tomato sauce, paste, sugar. Simmer for 15 min. or so (I usually add about 1/3 cup of water too). Stir frequently. Cook egg noodles and drain. Add block of cream cheese until melted and then stir in sour cream (I usually then add a little more salt, pepper and garlic). Alternate layers in casserole dish, noodles, meat sauce, grated cheese. Bake at 350 for 35 min., cover for the first 20 minutes with foil. I serve with a salad and garlic bread.
