Pepper and Onion Relish

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 medium onion, cut in 1/2 inch wedges
  • 1 each: red, green, yellow bell pepper cut in 1/2 inch strips
  • 2 Italian pepperoncini or more to taste, sliced
  • 1
  • Tbsp. EACH; barbecue sauce, steak sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Heat oil with crushed pepper flake in a large skillet over high heat. When it is hot, add onion and bell peppers. Cook, stirring often, until they are charred, about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat and continue to cook and stir until they are soft, 3 to 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and remove from heat.
