Ingredients
- 12 to 13 lbs. apples
- 5 lbs. sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup cinnamon candies
Directions
- Core and slice apples (do not peel).
- Place apples in a large kettle with a small amount of water; cook until soft. Press apples through a sieve.
- Combine apples, sugar and vinegar in a large, deep roasting pan; mix well. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 hours, stirring occasionally. Add cinnamon candies, stirring well. Cook about 1 additional hour or until thickened.
