Carmelitas Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 1 /2 c oatmeal
  • 1 c melted butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 (12oz) chocolate chips
  • 1 pk. caramels (48)
  • 1/2 c milk

Directions

  1. Mix flour, oats, butter, sugar, salt and baking soda until well blended.

  2. Press 1/2 mix into 9×13 pan.

  3. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

  4. Melt caramels and milk together in microwave.

  5. Spread over crust.

  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and remaining crust over top.

  7. Bake 15-20 more minutes.

  8. Cool and serve as bars.
