Pumpkin Bread

Serves 12 people

Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c canned pumpkin
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1/2 cup each walnuts and raising (optional)

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients.

  2. Beat together brown sugar and shortening.

  3. Beat in eggs, then add pumpkin and milk.

  4. Add dry mix and mix well.

  5. Put into 9×5 greased pan.

  6. Bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes.

  7. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.

  8. Makes 1 loaf.
