Sue’s Custard Cups

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Beat whole eggs and yolks slightly. Add sugar and salt, mixing well. Add milk and vanilla and stir. Place custard cups in a large rectangle pan.
  2. Pour mixture into cups. Sprinkle tops with nutmeg. Add water to pan to about 1/2-inch deep.
  3. Bake 325 degrees oven 25 to 30 minutes, or until just set.
