Lemon Sauce

(from Lucianolinda’s recipe box)

goes with the suet pudding from the 1800’s.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan
  2. Stir until cornstarch is blended. Add cold water gradually, stirring well. Place on stove and bring to boil, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Add lemon extract and butter. Serve hot over pudding.
