Velvet Cream

Categories: pudding- custard- mousse- flan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz. (1 Tbsp.) granulated gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 4 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 pint cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. Follow standard directions for making the gelatin. As soon as it begins to congeal, add the cream. Flavor with vanilla.
  2. Turn into a mold and place on ice to harden. Serve with maple syrup.
  3. Variation: Using the same ingredients, whip cream and fold into the dissolved gelatin and sugar mixture. Mold.
