Almond Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Cold water

Directions

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients and cut in shortening. Add egg and cold water to make stiff dough. Chill, roll and bake as for plain pastry.
