Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan combine water and butter and bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and beat in flour and salt, all at once. Over low heat, stir until mixture forms a ball and leaves the sides of the pan. Remove from heat. Add eggs all at once. Beat until smooth and satiny looking. Place dough by large spoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes without opening door. Remove from oven and cool in a draft-free place. To serve, cut tops from puffs and take out doughy substance in the middle of each puff and discard. Fill puff with cold vanilla pudding or ice cream. Place tops back on. Can be frosted with chocolate frosting.
