Banana-Orange Sherbet

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 medium to large ripe but not over-ripe bananas
  • 3 oranges juiced, seeds removed
  • 3 lemons and juice, seeds removed
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1/2 pint heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. Place water and sugar in a large saucepan, bring to a boil and boil 7 minutes.
  2. Peel and mash with orange and lemon juices Pour into the container of an ice cream freezer and add milk, half-and-half and vanilla. Freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.
