Blackberry-Lemon Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened blackberries, fresh or frozen, mashed (see note)
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel (optional)
  • 3 cups half-and-half

Directions

  1. in a large bowl, combine blackberries, milk, lemon juice and lemon peel. Stir in half-and-half and mix well. Pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions.
  2. makes 2 quarts.

  3. Note: Fresh or frozen and thawed blueberries or raspberries, mashed, may be substituted if desired.
