Cherry Fudge Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25- oz.) pkg. devil's food cake mix with pudding
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 milk
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate morsels

Directions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 13 × 9-inch pan.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in venter comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
  3. Combine sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate morsels until blended. Pour over cooled cake, and let stand until set.
