Buttermilk Peach Sherbet

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe medium fresh peaches
  • Grated rind of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • pinch of salt
  • cinnamon to taste

Directions

  1. Peel peaches and mix with lemon rind and juice. Whirl in blender until light and fluffy. Add buttermilk and salt and mix well. Put in 9x 5x 2 inch loaf pan and freeze until almost solid. Whip with rotary egg beater until very light, put back in loaf pan and freeze again until set. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve at once.
