Chocolate Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 squares (2oz.) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/3 cups (15oz.can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla, optional
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups light cream or evaporated milk

Directions

  1. melt chocolate in top of double boiler. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir over rapidly boiling water 5 to 10 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat. Add vanilla if preferred. Gradually add water and cream or evaporated milk. Mix well. Cool. Freeze in freezer as directed by manufacturer.
  2. makes 1 1/4 quarts
