Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream

this is another old recipe that I adapted to modern methods. It’s just right for those who don’t have an ice cream maker, and just want a small amount of homemade ice cream.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup (1/2 can) Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed milk
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 cup crushed strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar, about
- 1 cup heavy cream
Directions
- Make room in the freezer for a loaf pan or baking dish, and chill the dish until ready to use.
- Combine Eagle Brand milk and water. Chill.
- Sweeten strawberries. to taste. Stir into milk mixture.
- Whip cream to custard-like consistency. Fold into chilled mixture. Pour into chilled dish. Cover with waxed paper, pressing down to surface of mixture to prevent a skin from forming.
- Freeze to a firm mush ( about 1 hour).
- Turn into chilled bowl. Break up with fork then beat with rotary beater until fluffy but not melted.
- Quickly return to dish, cover with waxed paper. Return to freezer until firm.

This is a good basic recipe that can be varied with different fruit, chocolate, or other combinations. Let your imagination rule the day.
