Black and White Chili

(from Lucianolinda’s recipe box)

named for the black beans and white kidney (cannelloni) beans. Red kidney, Navy or Great Northern beans work just as well. In crease jalapeno pepper, and chili powder for more heat.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground venison, turkey or beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 purple onion
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. Mexican chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Rendezvous Famous Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 2 15 oz. cans black beans
  • 1 15oz. cans white kidney beans
  • 2 280z. cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 28oz. cans diced tomatoes

Directions

  1. In large stockpot, brown meat; drain fat, if necessary. Dice jalapenos, bell peppers (any color) and onion; add to meat with garlic. When vegetables are done, add chili powder, Rendezvous, salt, black pepper and cumin. Allow to simmer at least an hour before serving. (Even better server the next day).
  2. makes about 6 quarts
