Baked Ziti

Serves 5 people

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound (8 oz) dry ziti pasta
  • 1 T minced onion
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain.

  2. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce, and simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8×8 inch baking dish. Layer as follows:

  4. -1/2 of the ziti
  5. -Provolone cheese
  6. - Sour cream
  7. - 1/2 sauce mixture
  8. - Remaining ziti
  9. - Mozzarella cheese
  10. - Remaining sauce mixture.
  11. Top with parmesan cheese.

  12. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheeses are melted and bubbling
