Hand Crank Freezer Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. flour (divided)
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. pure vanilla (divided)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 13 oz. can Carnation milk
  • 1 5oz. can carnation milk
  • about 1/2 gallon whole milk

Directions

  1. Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl on medium speed for 1 minute.
  2. Mix flour, sugar and salt together in small bowl, and then add to eggs. Cream together on medium speed for 2 minutes, adding a little of the carnation milk, if necessary; then add the remainder of the Carnation milk, mix well, and pour into gallon freezer. Finish filling
  3. freezer to within 1-inch of top with whole milk, which will take about 1/2 gallon.

  4. Freeze for about 15 minutes or until hard to turn.
  5. makes 1 gallon
