Homemade Chocolate Chocolate-Chip Ice Cream

Ingredients
- 3 cups half-and-half
- 4 1/2 cups milk
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/8 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 4 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 6 oz. semisweet chocolate mini chips
Directions
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine half-and-half milk, sugar and salt. As mixture starts heating, add vanilla, cocoa, butter and almond extract. Heat until almost boiling. Remove from heat and chill. When ready to freeze, stir mixture, strain and add heavy cream. Pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions. When half frozen, add mini-chips
