Ingredients
- 2 lb. strawberries, hulled and halved
- Pinch ground cardamom
- 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Directions
- In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, cardamom and sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 to 15 minute, or until the fruit has softened.
- Pass the mixture through a fine sieve and return liquid to the saucepan. You should have about 2 cups of puree. Any extra should be reserved for another use. Add the cream and milk and stir to combine. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled.
- Transfer to the canister of an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s
