Nectarine-Cherry Sundae Topping

Ingredients
- 2 to 3 fresh nectarines
- 1/2 cup currant jelly
- 2 Tbsp. arrowroot
- 1 cup orange soda
- 1 cup pitted fresh Bing cherries or canned dark sweet cherries, pitted
- 4 thin slices lemon, quartered
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 6 drops red food coloring 6 servings ice cream
Directions
- Slice nectarines to make 2 cups. Whip currant jelly with arrowroot until smooth. Stir in orange soda and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce comes to a boil and is thickened. Stir in nectarines, cherries, lemon and lemon juice. Add food coloring, heat through. Serve hot over scoops of ice cream.
