Strawberry Hot Fudge Sundae

Ingredients

  • For the hot fudge:
  • 1 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup OR honey OR agave syrup
  • 1 pint strawberry ice cream
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • Whipped cream

Directions

  1. To make the hot fudge: In the top of a double boiler over medium-low heat combine the chopped chocolate, heavy cream and corn syrup. Heat until chocolate is nearly melted, then stir with a heat-safe spatula or wood spoon to combine. Use immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week. (reheat before using).
  2. To assemble: For each sundae, swirl a dollop of fudge in the bottom of a chilled sundae glass or deep bowl. Add a scoop of ice cream, then more fudge, then another scoop of ice cream. Top with more hot fudge, 1/4 cup of the strawberries and whipped cream.
