Ingredients
- 3 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Dash mace
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 6 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. strawberry extract
- 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 15 drops red food color
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup miniature marshmallow
Directions
- Scald milk. Combine next 5 ingredients, mixing well. Beat egg yolks well. Gradually add sugar mixture, beating until sugar dissolves. Slowly stir in scalded milk. Cook in top of double boiler over boiling water, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and coats metal spoon. Chill. Add next 4 ingredients; blend well with wire whisk. Freeze in 4 -quart ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions.
