Best- Ever Crab Spread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. fresh lump crabmeat
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh chives
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2tsp. Old Bay seasoning

Directions

  1. Drain crabmeat, removing any bits of shell.
  2. Beat cream cheese and next 5 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Gently stir in crabmeat. Cover and chill 8 hours. Serve with toasted baguette slices.

  4. For Best-Ever Catfish Spread, substitute 1/2 lb. catfish fillets for crabmeat. Sprinkle fish with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Place on a lightly greased broiler pan, and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork. Cool, break into 1/2-inch pieces, and prepare spread as directed.
