Old Fashioned Julip

Ingredients

  • 2 mint sprigs
  • 1 1 by 2-inch strip orange peel, removed with a vegetable peeler
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters, or more to taste
  • Crushed ice
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Directions

  1. In an old-fashioned glass or julep cup, using a muddler or a wooden spoon, meddle 1 mint sprig, the orange peel, sugar and bitters. Fill the glad with crushed ice. Add the bourbon, stir until cold, about a dozen times. Garnish with the cherry and the other mint sprig.
