Make- Believe Champagne

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 liter chilled ginger ale OR soda water

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil; boil 5 minutes. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to spouted measure or small pitcher and stir in the grapefruit and orange juices. Refrigerate until well chilled.
  2. At serving time, pour 1 to 3 oz. syrup into each champagne flute. Top with ginger ale or soda water and stir gently to combine.
