Mulled Cranberry Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cranberry juice blend
  • 4 cups apple cider or juice
  • Zest of 1 orange, cut into large strips
  • 1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole allspice berries
  • 4 whole cloves
  • Honey or maple syrup, to taste
  • Cinnamon sticks and/or fresh cranberries, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a large pot, combine the cranberry juice, apple cider, orange zest, ginger, cinnamon sticks, allspice and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, partially covered for 30 minutes. Strain. Sweeten to taste with honey or maple syrup. Serve immediately or transfer to a slow cooker set on warm. Serve garnished with cinnamon sticks and/or fresh cranberries.
