Classic Glogg

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- Zest from 1/2 orange
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole allspice berries
- 1 bottle red wine
- 2/3 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds
- Make-Believe Champagne ( see recipe)
- 1 orange, sliced
Directions
- In a pot, combine the orange juice, orange zest, water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a large simmer and cook, covered, 30 minutes. Remove orange peel and spices. Add wine and cook just until heated through. Stir in raisins and almonds. Serve garnished with an orange slice.
