Japanese Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 lbs beef stew meat
  • 1/2 cup Japanese sake
  • 4 medium carrots, peel and diagonally sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 white onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Heat oil in skillet over medium. Brown beef on all sides. Transfer beef to crock pot.

  2. Add remaining ingredients. Stir well to combine. Cover and cook on LOW 10-12 hrs.
