Ingredients
- 1 tsp ground red pepper
- salt
- black pepper
- 1 1/2 to 2 lbs beef brisket, scored with knife on both sides
- juice of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 garlic cloves, mashed
- 4 slices fresh ginger
- 4 slices orange peel
Directions

Combine red pepper, salt and black pepper. Rub over brisket. Place brisket in food storage bag.

Combine syrup, whiskey, brown sugar, oil, tomato paste, orange juice, garlic, ginger and orange peel in medium bowl. Mix well. Pour over brisket and marinate overnight.

Transfer brisket and marinade to crock pot. Cover and cook on LOW 7-9 hrs, turning once or twice. Slice thinly across grain and serve.
