Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 squares (1oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 3/4 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- Icing:
- 1/2 box powdered sugar
- 1/2 stick butter, softened
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla
- 4 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
- milk
- dash of salt
Directions
- In medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts; mix well. Spread in greased 8 x8x2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (Be careful not to over bake.) Cool and frost.

Icing: Soften butter in bowl. Sift sugar and chocolate in bowl with butter. Add vanilla and milk to correct consistency. Add salt. Add more chocolate and sugar to desired taste.
