Grandma’s Cream Waffles

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs (divided)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • Waffle Sauce:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten lightly
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

  1. For Waffles: Mix and sift dry ingredients together. Add milk which has been beaten with egg yolks; add melted butter.. Beat until all lumps have disappeared. Fold in beaten egg whites. Preheat waffle iron/ Bake until golden brown.

  2. For Sauce: Mix all ingredients together and bring to a boil on medium heat. Serve hot, over waffles.
