German Tea Squares

Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 3-3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3-3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground cloves
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1-1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- powdered sugar
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Grease two 10×15 baking pans.

Combine dry ingredients except for nuts and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until frothy.

Mix in brown sugar and beat until pale and creamy.

Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients.

Stir in nuts (optional).

Spread in pans.
-
Bake for 20 minutes.

Change shelves after approximately twelve minutes if two oven shelves are used.

Create a thin glaze with powdered sugar and water.

Spoon or brush glaze over warm bars.

Cut bars into lozenge shapes.

Store in an airtight container.
