Thyme-Scented Green Beans with Smoked Almonds

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp. light butter
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme *
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped smoked almonds*

Directions

  1. Arrange green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.*
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in green beans, thyme, salt and pepper; cook until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle beans with almonds.
    • 1 to 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh thyme may be substituted for the dried thyme, 1 Tbsp. chopped toasted almonds may be substituted for the smoked almonds.
  3. Note: Smoked almonds may be found in the snack section of the supermarket.
